Only practical work and experiences lead the young to maturity.
Laura Sherman has been playing piano since she was 5 years old. Her father was a professor at UC Berkeley and he taught her to play the piano. She received a BA in Music from UC Santa Cruz and also holds a Masters in Recreation Therapy and a Teaching Credential in Music. She started teaching music in Santa Cruz in the late 70s both in the elementary schools and private piano lessons. She has taught many kinds of classes including piano, chorus, singing and percussion, movement and Orff classes which combine all of the above, at present she specialises in teaching young children in pre-school and Kindergarten. Laura also enjoys playing piano and performs occasionally in restaurants, clubs and for private parties. She enjoys teaching very much.
